The Bluegrass Underground venue is just 11 minutes down the road and Bonnaroo is just a stone’s throw away. Also, Sewanee University and St. Andrews are only about 25 minutes away. Clean and comfortable with all the amenities of home. We love sharing this little house with our guests and meeting new people. We also respect your privacy but are right next door if you need anything.

There are four beds but only three bedrooms. One queen bed is in the living room in a hide a bed sofa. The house is a 3 bedroom 2 bath. The master is on one side of the house with a master bathroom and the other two bedrooms share a bath on the other side of the house. It has a great open concept with the living room, kitchen and dining room in the area.. We have a hide a bed couch in the living room. This is a well equipped home. It’s an open concept with all the extra touches to make your stay perfect. Unlike other places I have stayed we provide toiletries and other essentials so you are not spending your time buying these things while on vacation or a trip. We have a nice screened in porch and a patio area with BBQ to enjoy the outdoors. This is a 2 year old home and it is very nice home with nice decor. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. The house sits back from the road and is fenced on 3/4 of an acre.

The kitchen includes a refrigerator, oven, and microwave to cook your perfect meal.  The upstairs master bedroom features a queen size bed, while the downstairs bedroom includes 2 twin beds.  There is a pull-out sofa in the living room. The cabin will sleep a maximum of 6 people. The Hawks Nest Log Cabin was hand-built by our uncle and cousin from cedar trees on the lot about 35 years ago. The cabin is small, but cozy and comfortable. It's perfect for 2 or 3, and can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children, but is really too small to accommodate 4 adults. Both bedrooms and the bathroom are located upstairs. If you have a problem with stairs, the cabin might not be right for you, as the stairs are steep. It is located right on Tims Ford Lake in middle Tennessee, just outside the town of Winchester. It sits at the edge of the lake, surrounded by 4 wooded acres, with its own dock in a private and quiet residential area. There is an outdoor fire pit for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. You will need to provide your own firewood. There's a deck with a porch swing, and another swing down by the lake. You'll find picnic tables and both a gas and charcoal grill for your convenience. There is plenty of shade and it's very peaceful and relaxing. There are games and rainy day activities for children, as well as an outdoor swing set and sandbox. Basic cable TV is available, as well as a DVD/VCR with a small library of movies. No smoking is allowed inside the cabin. Tims Ford is a great lake for fishing, skiing, or boating. There are lots of antique shops and other attractions nearby as well as mountains nearby for hiking. It's 25 miles to Jack Daniels in Lynchburg; 15 miles to Falls Mill with the largest working water wheel in the United States; 17 miles to Sewanee and the beautiful University of the South. Great cabin located directly on Tims Ford Lake. Cabin has been updated and includes nice, well stocked kitchen as well as a deck (with grill). Enjoy our dock - fish, swim and use our two kayaks, paddle board and a canoe. Plenty of space to tie your boat up to our dock in a mostly private cove. Please read the guest access section for more details on lake access. Cabin is two stories. One bedroom with queen bed down and another bedroom upstairs with two twins and one double. Kitchen, bath, nice den (with sleeper sofa) and dining area and a nice deck with table and chairs and a gas grill. Stack washer and dryer in home. Kitchen has side by side refrigerator w/Ice & water, dishwasher, and range. Please note - The fireplace is electric. Tims Ford is known for its small mouth bass fishing. Good fishing from our dock as well (bring your own poles and gear). You will have dock access to use our dock with a covered boat slip. Besides the slip, there is plenty of room to tie up a second boat or Jet Ski. The dock has an open deck area (about 18' x 8') for sunning, fishing and hanging out. There is also two covered areas (about 4' x 20 each'). We have a table, chairs (8) and umbrella for your use. Great swimming off the dock (there is a ladder) . From the cabin, the view of the lake is blocked by tree's in the summer but pretty open in the winter. NOTE - Our dock is down a relatively steep hill with a paved path (first 100 yards or so) and then less steep mulched path (about 50 yards or so). There are no steps. You are welcome to use our two kayaks, canoe and paddle board (paddles supplied but please bring your own life jackets - WE DO NOT PROVIDE LIFE JACKETS - Life jackets are a TN state law and are required to use our canoe, kayaks or paddle board). Truly amazing brand new (completed March 2021) rental home directly on Tims Ford Lake with a private covered dock in a beautiful quiet cove. Our new home was built to be the perfect vacation rental home for one (or multiple) families. Home offers three private master bedrooms (separated by common areas), all with king beds and each with its own large private bathroom. In addition, there is a bunk room with twin/full bunk and one double/twin trundle with its own private bathroom as well as a day bed in the bonus room (full size but only 70" long). Nice open family room with vaulted ceiling (gas fireplace) and dining area overlooking the lake. An amazing kitchen with every amenity, including two dishwashers and two refrigerators. Lower level has a huge bonus room with TV, foosball, combo game table (pool, hockey and more) plus wet-bar with refrigerator. There is a utility room with washer/dryer on both levels. Two huge covered decks overlooking lake (1,500 sf). Upper deck offers a large gas grill, sitting area, dining table for 8, and a screen porch with hanging day bed and a 4-top dining table. Lower deck includes sitting area, dining table, and a 7-person hot tub (additional fee applies to use hot tub for less than 7-day rentals). The view from both decks looks out over the cove. We also have a fire pit area between the lake and the house. Across the cove is wooded TVA land with lots of wildlife (deer, raccoons, eagles, herons, and more). The Fireside apartment is located in a beautiful Sewanee subdivision close to the Equestrian Center. The apartment has a private entrance with a covered patio and kitchenette, its own private bedroom and bathroom, and can accomodate two people very comfortably. No pets are allowed inside the apartment for allergy reasons, but we have a covered 12x4 feet kennel that can accommodate dogs and cats. For your safety and security, there is a videocamera monitoring the parking lot.

A gas fire pit and hot tub are just outside on the private 400 sq ft covered patio, allowing year-round enjoyment of the lake. There's also a large wood burning fire pit in the yard overlooking the lake. The 300 sq ft floating dock is great for fishing, boating, swimming or just relaxing. Life jackets are provided for the kayaks and pedal boat (TN law requires they be worn by children and present for adults while boating). In the winter, the lake level is dropped 15 feet, making the ramp to the floating dock very steep. The pedal boat is on the dock but the kayaks are on the landing. Getting the kayaks up and down the ramp in the winter is not recommended. On rainy days or at night, the living room has a gas fireplace and can become an HD Home Theater with a 10' pull down screen and surround sound. In addition to the Home theater, there are large TVs in the living room and master bedroom with Xfinity cable, Amazon Prime and Blue Ray DVD players. If they are present, they're usually 'invisible' and the patio, backyard and dock are for exclusive use of the guests during their stay. It's usually peaceful and great for relaxing and fishing. However, in the summer and during holidays, particularly during weekends, neighbors with children and wakeboard boat owners are often present and proud of their sound systems, lol. We're on the main channel and they can rock the dock both acoustically and literally. Twin Creeks Marina is less than 10 minutes by power boat, 15 by car. It has a full-service marina, boat rental and floating restaurant in season. We're 30 minutes from the Jack Daniels Distillery, 90 minutes from Nashville, 75 minutes to Chattanooga and 60 minutes to Huntsville. In addition to water sports, Tims Ford lake has bass fishing tournaments (lake fish include: Bass, Rockfish, Crappie, Walleye, Catfish, Bluegill and Drum). The small historic town of Winchester is 12 minutes away with groceries, several restaurants, a historic two-movie theater and a nearby Drive-in. There are excellent hiking trails near by such as Fiery Gizzard and Stone Door. There's plenty of wildlife including Deer, Red Fox, Red-Tailed Hawks, Blue Heron and an occasional Bald Eagle. With an active Neighborhood Watch program, this lakefront neighborhood is safe and friendly but we do have a security camera watching the parking area just to be on the safe side. Although there is a whip mooring system on the floating dock, it's only for jetskis or very light boats (under1200 pounds). Larger boats should never be left unattended due to large waves produced by storms and wakeboard boats that can damage both boat and dock. The boat ramp and boat parking area are only 500 yards from the house. The floating dock has a Bluetooth controlled sound system, night accent lighting and USB phone charging port (all via low voltage DC power -- safe for swimmers). We're 30 minutes from the Jack Daniels Distillery, 90 minutes from Nashville, 75 minutes to Chattanooga and 60 minutes to Huntsville. In addition to water sports, Tims Ford lake has bass fishing tournaments (lake fish include: Bass, Rockfish, Crappie, Walleye, Catfish, Bluegill and Drum). The small historic town of Winchester is 12 minutes away with groceries, several restaurants, a historic two-movie theater and a nearby Drive-in. There are excellent hiking trails near by such as Fiery Gizzard and Stone Door. There's plenty of wildlife including Deer, Red Fox, Red-Tailed Hawks, Blue Heron and an occasional Bald Eagle. With an active Neighborhood Watch program, this lakefront neighborhood is safe and friendly but we do have a security camera watching the parking area just to be on the safe side. Although there is a whip mooring system on the floating dock, it's only for jet skis or very light boats (under1200 pounds). Larger boats should never be left unattended due to large waves produced by storms and wakeboard boats that can damage both boat and dock. The boat ramp and boat parking area are only 500 yards from the house. The floating dock has a Bluetooth controlled sound system, night accent lighting and USB phone charging port (all via low voltage DC power -- safe for swimmers).

The main level features a large living room with lots of comfortable seating (including three sofas) for all to view the large screen television and is open to a professional and modern, fully furnished kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances with an eat-in kitchen including a table seating six, an adjoining long antique church pew to accommodate more diners, and a breakfast bar seating two additional people. Again, these three areas are open to each other incorporated as one, in a sense, in a great room type of setting. The main level also includes 2 bedrooms, a full bath, and a laundry room with large load capacity washer and dryer and long counter for folding. The stairway leads you from the main level to a landing with another seating area and a quaint reading nook with 100+ books for your pleasure. At the top of the stairs is an overlook landing with views into the main level living room and of a bit of the cove of the lake. The second story includes the fabulous master bedroom with cathedral ceilings and unique antique furnishings. The master bedroom features a private deck with seating perfect for enjoying your morning coffee while others are sleeping, for sunbathing and lounging by day, or for watching the moon rise over Sewanee Mountain at night. The second story also boasts a large and luxurious full master bath with a jacuzzi tub, a separate shower, and a double vanity (double sinks with mirrored wall behind). An additional room containing a daybed with a pull out bed underneath, a full-length mirror, wicker table with lamp, wicker lounge chair, and two closets for plentiful storage is located upstairs and shares the master bath in the case that this room may be needed for extra sleepers. While this room is very small and cozy accomodating two children or one adult well, it may feel tight for two adults. This is the room which we use as the semi-4th bedroom as it is vented to the heating and air system but has no window. The very large boat dock and ramp is conveniently located directly across the street from the home and is property of the neighborhood association. It is of utmost importance that rules are followed and the neighborhood area and neighbors themselves are treated respectfully. You will be furnished a private slip and will be provided the slip number to dock your watercraft if using the dock. It is important to adhere to using our slip. The slip number will be relayed upon booking of the reservation after an understanding has been reached by the guests to follow the dock rules such as no running, no cluttering of the walkways, keeping noise levels low for consideration of the neighbors, etc. Basically, the rules involve common courtesy for others and for safety for all--rental guests, neighbors, and for the neighborhood. For safety concerns, an addendum to the covenants and by-laws requires that children under the age of 16 be escorted by an adult. Also, in showing consideration for the neighborhood residents, we ask that guests park in the home's driveway and/or to the left of the drive on the home's lawn. There is AMPLE PARKING AREA ON THE HOME'S PROPERTY alleviating any need to park on the street. THE BEACH----The sandy public Winchester Beach and picnic area is a nice feature to have located so nearby by merely travelling under the bridge just yards from our community dock. Just around the bend from the beach is the Winchester City Park and also the Bass Club for fishing enthusiasts. The 4 or 3 bedrooms sleeping a total of 11 people include 2 queen beds, 2 twin beds, 1 bunk bed and 2 trundle-type beds. There is a queen size self-inflatable mattress if anyone prefers sleeping in the great room or adding this mattress in one of the bedrooms or elsewhere. However you choose to arrange the sleeping, we ask that you do not sleep more than 11 people at the property in consideration of the neighborhood residents. The home features 2 full bathrooms, a fully equipped modern kitchen with granite countertops, hardwood floors throughout with tile floors in the baths and laundry. The three televisions are serviced by satellite. Although the home is not wheel chair accessible, it is easily accessible, indeed, with minimal steps to the front porch and deck. Tims Ford Lake is one of Tennessee's best kept secrets with approximately 11,000 acres and 250 miles of shore line! If fishing is a priority for your group, Tim's Ford is well known as a great smallmouth bass and striped bass lake. Largemouth bass, crappie, and catfish are also plentiful.
