Saturday Duck Blind Drawing Locations

The drawings will be held for duck blinds in Regions I, II, and III on Saturday, August 3, 2002, according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA).

WEST TENNESSEE DUCK BLIND DRAWINGS

Registration will be 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., with the drawings to begin at 10:00 a.m. Drawings will be held at these locations:

GOOCH UNIT A (35 blinds) - Location for drawing - Town of Obion - City Park. Take U.S. Highway 51 north from Memphis or south from Union City. Get off at Obion exit, turn east to City Park.

REELFOOT (42 blinds) - Location for drawing - Ellington Hall at Reelfoot State Park Visitors Center, Hwy. 22, 2 ½ miles east of Tiptonville, TN. - across from Boyette's Restaurant.

KENTUCKY LAKE (Camden Units I&II, Harmon's Creek, Big Sandy, and Gin Creek) (Camden-47 blinds; Harmon Creek-9 blinds; Big Sandy-18 blinds; and Gin Creek- 6 blinds) Location for drawing - Little League Ball Field in Big Sandy, TN.

BARKLEY UNIT I (28 blinds) - Location for drawing - Dover Elementary School, 1 mile south of Dover, TN on Hwy. 49.

BARKLEY UNIT II (26 blinds) - Location for drawing - Ft. Donelson National Military Park work base at Hickman Creek, 1/4 mile west of entrance to Ft. Donelson National Military Park on Hwy. 79. Turn right on blacktop and continue to work base. Blinds are open river and mudflats.

TIGRETT (19 blind sites) - Location for drawing - Dyersburg Fairgrounds (First Citizens Pavillion). Take Newbern/ Dyersburg exit( State Hwy 211) off U.S. Hwy 412 at Dyersburg. Take Hwy 211 west, towards Dyersburg, turn on Community Park Road. Fairgrounds will be on the right.

WEST SANDY (37 blinds) - Location for drawing - Livestock Barn at the Henry Co. Fairgrounds in Paris, TN.

Region II (Middle TN) Duck Blind Drawings

OLD HICKORY - drawing held at the Ward Agriculture Center in Lebanon (Take I-40 to Lebanon-Watertown exit. Turn toward Lebanon; enter off of Tennessee Boulevard). Watch for signs for directions to drawing site at Ward Ag. Center.

CHEATHAM - River Bluff Park (across the river from Riverview Restaurant)

HAYNES BOTTOM - River Bluff Park (across the river from Riverview Restaurant)

WOODS RESERVOIR/AEDC - NEW DRAWING SITE: Decherd Little League Park in Decherd, TN. Directions to Woods Reservoir/AEDC drawing: From Nashville, take I-24 East. From Chattanooga, take I-24 West. From I-24, take exit 127 (U.S. Hwy. 64) West toward Decherd and Winchester. Go 10 miles and turn right on Warren Chapel Road. Warren Chapel Road runs into Old Highway 50 after 1.2 miles. Turn left (West). Go 1 mile and turn left on College Street. Turn left at sign that says "City of Decherd Little League Park" From Tullahoma and Winchester, take Hwy. 41A into Decherd. Turn on Hwy. 50 East. Go 1.5 miles and turn right on College Street. Turn left at the sign "City of Decherd Little League Park"

OLD HICKORY UNIT I (Hwy. 109 upstream to River Mile 267), Cheatham Reservoir, Haynes Bottom, and Woods Reservoir:

Registration is from 7 - 10 a.m. The drawing will begin at 10:00 a.m.

To participate in the annual blind drawing, individuals must:

  • Be at least 16 years of age.
  • Appear in person.
  • Not have applied for more than one area.
  • Possess one of the following license and permits (except at Reelfoot where only an Annual Reelfoot Preservation Permit is required: * Lifetime Sportsman License,* Annual Sportsman License (Type 004),* Lifetime Senior Citizen License (Type 405), * Annual Senior Citizen Permit (Type 167) - Supplement used in conjunction with Permanent Senior Citizen License (Type 166),* Annual Hunting/Fishing License (Type 001) and Type 091 Permit, * Permanent Senior Citizen License (Type 166) and Type 091 Permit, * Proof of age (residents born before March 1, 1926) and Type 091 Permit

TWRA would like to remind people attending the blind drawings that rules and regulations state - No person shall buy, sell, or barter, or offer to buy, sell or barter the privilege of signing on a draw blind. Violation of this is a Class B misdemeanor.
