2016 Waterfowl Blind Permit Drawings To Be Held On Aug. 6

  • Friday, July 29, 2016

Tennessee’s long-standing tradition of hand-drawn duck blind drawings will be held at the regular sites across the state on Saturday, Aug. 6.

Registration for the 2016 drawings will be held from 7-10 a.m. and the drawings will begin at 10 a.m. at most locations.

Interactive maps with specific location information, including GPS coordinates, and the 2016-17 Tennessee Hunting and Trapping guide can be found on the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s website at www.tnwildlife.org

While hand drawings will be held for the majority of the locations, a computerized drawing system will be used for blind sites on Bogota and Thorny Cypress Wildlife Management Areas in Dyer County, Gooch Unit E, Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park, White Oak (Lebanon Pond area in Hardin County) and the four units on the Chickamauga WMA (Candies Creek, Johnson Bottoms, Rogers Creek, and Yellow Creek) will again be conducted for this season. The application period is Sept. 7-28 for these areas.

The 2016-17 state waterfowl seasons were set in April due to a change in timing of the federal regulation process.
